meet gabby: Thoughtful care begins with connection.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to caring for others.

Over the years, grooming has given me the privilege of building relationships not only with dogs but with the people who love them.

Those experiences have shaped everything I do today and continue to guide the work I offer through both Grooms by Gabby and Kindred Crossing.

Care Has Always Been About Relationships

People often assume grooming is just making your dog clean and neat.

For me, it has always been about something much deeper.

Every appointment is an opportunity to build trust, learn a companion’s unique personality, and create an experience where they feel safe, respected, and cared for.

I’ve celebrated new puppies, watched energetic dogs grow into gentle seniors, and stood beside families through both joyful milestones and heartbreaking goodbyes.

Those experiences taught me that true care extends far beyond the grooming appointment.

It lives in the relationships we build.

The Kind of Care I Believe In

Presence

Every animal deserves to be met exactly where they are, without judgment or expectations.

Patience

Every companion deserves time, gentle care, and the space to move at their own pace.

Compassion

Supporting animal companions also means supporting the people who love them through every stage of the journey.

Observation

Small changes often reveal important stories. Care begins by noticing what others may miss.

“Gabby was wonderful with our puppy, Willie, during his very first grooming appointment. She was incredibly patient, and we were amazed by his adorable new haircut! We were so happy to see his eyes again! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, caring groomer.” -Emily

Why Mobile Grooming?

Starting my own mobile grooming business wasn’t simply about convenience.

It was about creating the kind of experience I always wished existed.

A quieter space.

One dog at a time.

No crowded salon.

More one-on-one attention.

Grooms by Gabby was built on the belief that every animal companion deserves thoughtful, individualized care in a calm environment where each appointment can unfold at the pace they need.

That philosophy continues to guide every grooming appointment today.

expanding the care i provide

As the years passed, I found myself having more conversations that had little to do with grooming.

• Families noticing changes in their companion’s comfort or quality of life
• People preparing for a beloved companion’s transition
• Caregivers experiencing anticipatory grief
• People navigating loss after sharing years of life with an animal they loved

I realized that the same values shaping my grooming work - presence, compassion, observation, patience, and trust - also belonged in these conversations.

Kindred Crossing grew from that foundation. It allows me to offer practical guidance, gentle conversation, grief tending, and space for personal meaning, ritual, or ceremony.

It is a natural continuation of the care I have always valued: supporting animal companions and the people who love them through every season of life.

TRAINING THAT INFORMS MY WORK

Thoughtful care requires humility, careful listening, and a willingness to continue learning.

My approach to companion care and grief support is informed by:

• Grief-tending training with Nici Moon of The Grief Space
• Completion of the Companion Animal Death Doula course through the University of New England
• The Craft of Council with Tracey Keyturner in North Bennington, Vermont

These experiences continue to shape how I listen, hold space, facilitate meaningful conversations, and support people before, during, and after an animal companion’s transition.

A Few Things About Me

  • I believe trust is earned, never assumed.

  • Every dog deserves dignity.

  • Quality will always matter more than speed.

  • Some of life’s most meaningful moments happen in quiet.

  • Caring for animals also means caring for the people who love them.

  • I feel incredibly grateful that so many clients have trusted me with their companions year after year.
